Open Farm Day for "Pros" and Hobby Farmers and Fiber Artists
Come see, feel and appreciate 54 alpacas in full fleece before shearing!
We are inviting our North Bay neighbors, especially those involved in agriculture & fiber artistry, to see and FEEL our 54 alpacas in FULL FLEECE, before they are shorn in April. Alpacas are fiber animals, raised for their luxurious fleece, which is made into luxury garments and textiles. They're cute to look at, but you won't believe it until you examine them--they are loaded with soft, hypo-allergenic, non-itchy fleece that you want to have next to your skin.
This will NOT be a day to just come to take "selfies" with the alpacas--we hope to see people who are seriously interested in learning how alpacas fit into the spectrum of agriculture/ranching and textile production in Northern California.
Bring a container for free alpaca compost!
